The given article is devoted to the study of tautology in contrastive analysis (based on the novel by Ch. Bronte «Jane Eyre»). The importance of the superiority of the figure of the author of the original text in relation to the linguistic personality of the translator is emphasized. Translation techniques that lead to a modification of a monolithic function of the aesthetic impact of the original on the reader-acceptor and the author’s intention of the source are analyzed.en_US
