| Abstract: | В статье анализируется категория вежливости в контексте межкультурной коммуникации, а также влияние культурных особенностей на перевод произведения Л. Кэрролла «Алиса в Стране чудес» на русский язык. Иллюстрируются средства репрезентации вежливости из данного произведения на английском и русском языках. The paper considers the category of politeness in the context of intercultural communication, as well as the influence of cultural features on the translation of the book by L. Carroll “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland”. The differences in the means of representing politeness in the English and Russian languages are dwelled upon.
